Cheap Dedicated Server -If you are just starting out in online business and you are looking for web hosting to publish your new website then you have probably already seen that there is a huge range of different web hosting services out there, many of which are very cheap vps. A lot of people who are just starting out are surprised at how cheap it can be to publish a website online - but are these cheap plans good enough for you? And more specifically will they affect your SEO, or in other words, will the hosting plan that you choose affect the position of your website in the search results pages of Google, Yahoo, Bing and the other search engines?
The short answer is yes. A cheap web hosting package will almost certainly be good enough for a new website in terms of the amount of bandwidth, disk space and processor power that you will get, but there can be SEO implications to your choice.

The main problem is that the cheapest plans all put you on a 'shared server' with a shared IP address. This might not cause you any problems, but if you are unlucky and get put on the same machine as a few dodgy porn sites or very spam my websites then you can get associated with them, because the search engines will look at all the sites using an IP address, so you can get tainted by their content or their bad behavior. If you have already set up an account then you can check which other sites you are sharing an IP address with - just search for 'website IP address checking tool' or something like that. But there is probably no way to know in advance of signing up for an account. The best way around this is to go for one of the cheapest VPS hosting plans rather than shared plans - they are a bit more expensive but the cheapest ones are still only $20 or so per month, and you will be able to get your own IP address that is unique to you.

The other thing you need to think about is server location. If you are building a website that targets internet users in the Los Angeles VPS, for example, then it is best to have your website running on servers which are also located in the USA. Again, the search engines do look at this and it can affect geo-targeting in other words, a USA server will help you get a higher position in Google USA, whereas a UK server would give you a higher position in Google.co.uk, but a lower position in Google.com.
